Ping walked through the grass slowly, looking around every few minutes for signs of another wolf. She was trying to find the alpha of Sun Pack so that she could request to join, since she had no where to really go. After being separated from her pack, she was all alone, and she felt alone in a closed in world. She hoped the alpha wasn't mean. Truthfully, she didn't even know who the alpha was. To top that off, she wasn't even sure if these were the pack lands, or if they were farther in.
That would probably be a problem later, and she finally realized this. If she didn't know who the alpha was, then she could run into a lot of danger with dark wolves. She had heard stories of them force breeding females that they caught alone. All she could do was hope, though. And maybe hope for some shade soon, as the sun was starting to bother her, and she was getting thirsty to the point her tongue was starting to stick to the roof of her mouth.
Up ahead she could see a lake. How lucky she was! She started to dash for it, and when she came to a halt, she nearly fell in. It wasn't shade, but at least it was something to drink. Lapping up the water, she felt the cool goodness on her tongue, wet and delicious. Today was turning out to her her lucky day. After going hours without water, she had finally stumbled across some. She heard something then, however, and her ears twitched as she lifted her head from the lake. The scent of another wolf was in the air. The alpha?
“Is the alpha here?” she called out, peering around to see if she could see the alpha.

A canine layed in the shade of a small bush, chest cavity heaving emensly in the mid afternoon heat. Two toned eyes lazily shifting their gaze periodically from the vast crountry side to her black paws that layed before her. "I wish something would happen...." she emitted to no one in particular, "Even though I know something would happen if I made it happen, pushed the boundries of insanity, yeah then I'd get some excitement!" Dejah had never really been a junkie of adrenaline but the way things were going lately she needed a jolt of real life.
She let her neck relax, allowing her head to fall to the earth in a slow manner. Her eyes crept closed as if to pass the time faster, to get the boring times out of the way and behind her. As her figure began to release the tension that kept her so rigid she started to reach a sense of inner peace. Everything was a success until, "Is the alpha here..?" rang back and forth inside her ears. Eboney ears swiveled this way and that, moving almost on their own, pin-pointing the exact where abouts of the voice.
Her mismatched eyes opened once more, scanning the intermediate area surrounding her, but nothing. "I wonder what they want, better hope they aren't with another alliance or their head might need to be severed!!" she spattered as she raised herself off of the earth. She hadn't the best attitude nor the patience for those "dark" wolves, all in all they really pissed her off. But overall she had quite the manners when coming across those who were civilized.
Long legs made the distance that needed to be traveled a short one. Not too long after she had collected her thoughts and began to move did a combination of color in the form of a canine appeared before her. She, herself, had seen many wolves with this distinct color patterns in her time. But she couldn't seem to catch the name and origin of them that danced away from her grasp on the tip of her tounge. As she neared her eyes scanned the stranger, not much of a match if they were with the dark alliance.
With head held high and tail held at attention she closed the gap between the pair. "Well hello there..." she began with a smile as she made herself comfortable. Even when sitting, Dejah carried this sort of dominance about her, maybe it was just how she carried herself. She didn't know and she wasn't about to ask either. "I am guessing that there is something that you want to ask of me or was your request for the alpha a slip of the tounge?" she added with a cool voice.

When she first heard the sound of footsteps, Ping felt a panic growing in her. Had she alerted the alpha, or a dark wolf? If it was a dark wolf, she was most certainly doomed, since fighting was not her forte. But as she stared into the direction of the sound with her gray eyes, she found the figure of a wolf moving toward her. Though this wolf was of a dark color, she did not feel like the wolf was a threat to her, and when the wolf spoke this feeling grew.
“Hello,” she replied back, bowing her head to the other female. The next words caught her attention, though, and her head shot up. She had not gotten a bad feeling about the wolf, but she did not know that this was the alpha of Sun Pack. It was a shock to her to be standing in the presence of an alpha that was not of relation to her, yet it was also a wonderful feeling. She could, at last, be independent.
When her paralysis subsided, she shook her head. “No, no it was not a slip of the tongue. I'd feel mighty embarrassed if it was. Actually”—she again bowed her head to the alpha—“I wanted to ask to join your pack. My former pack was all my family, but we were headed through Dark Forest in search of new grounds. During that time I got separated from them, and have been looking for a new pack to join.”
Lifting her head, she dared to stare directly into the bi colored eyes of the alpha. After a few seconds she realized that the alpha didn't even know her name. To change this, she hastily added, “I am called Ping.” She then stood as straight as she could, and in her mind praying that she would be accepted into the pack. It was difficult avoiding dark wolves even within light packs, but outside of a pack, if you're alone you are doomed. This she knew, and that she didn't wish to risk. Besides, maybe she could be a pup sitter or a healer, or something like that.

Dejah studied the newcomer carefully, still trying to place her paw on the origin of her sub species. Her eyes brightened with excitement as the words began to roll off her tongue, "A Mexican Red Wolf, yes, or no wait...." just as soon as she thought she was correct her mind changed. "No, that can't be it, is it just a Mexican Wolf?" she asked herself as she glanced back up at the female. "Ah, never mind, it's quite irrelevant at the moment..." she added with a quick smile.
She lifted her frame from the earth and began to walk, "Well Ping, I think you just found yourself a new home." she stated without a back wards glance. "I am sure you can explore the realm later, are you hungry at all?" she asked over her shoulder. Her gait was smooth and comfortable, she seemed to be gliding over the plains that she called home. "Oh, and by the way, the name is Dejah Vuuhe but you can just call me Dejah. I demand respect, loyalty, and a sense of intelligence, so be a quick learner. You are in a safer place but you'll need a quick mentality to survive with those bastardly wolves afoot." she added as she looked to wards the dark realms. "It's best to stay in the light if you know what I mean...."

Ping smiled when the alpha got her breed right. Some thought she was just a gray wolf with long fur. And all that did was irritate her, because she did not think she looked like a gray wolf at all. She looked like herself. “Yes, I'm a Mexican Wolf. You're of the first to actually get it right[/b],” she replied, though it shouldn't have surprised her all that much. Alphas were highly intelligent, otherwise they wouldn't have been able to get that far.
When she heard those words, her heart fluttered. She now belonged to the Sun Pack, her new home, the one thing she would hold pride and joy for until the day she died. This alpha had made her one wish come true. If she weren't so happy, she would have cried tears of joy—so maybe it was a good thing that she couldn't at the moment, since that would probably ruin the moment.
“Thank you, Alpha Dejah,” she told her sincerely, following her at a slow pace so that she would remain behind her. “And I am fine. I was more thirsty than hungry, and finally getting here saved me from dehydration.[/b]” When Dejah looked in a different direction, Ping followed her gaze, and she could see then the lands where the dark wolves lived.
Gazing back at Dejah, she nodded and replied, “Yes. I know what you mean. I've heard many tales about them. They sound like demons.[/b]” She lowered her head then, and then asked quietly, “My Alpha, may I request to be either a healer or a pup sitter? I know either would be helpful for when mothers have to fight dark wolves and need someone to watch over their pups, and I know that during this will cause many wolves to get hurt. I will be whichever you feel I should be, if you think I would be acceptable for one of those positions.”
